I got a ticket! Words cannot express how ecstatic I was when I received my ticket to this premiere! The one movie I really wanted to see while I was in France! A big group of us got together and make the ten minute trek to the Grand Theatre Lumiere (taking a taxi would have been pointless with the high volume of traffic). We got to the halfway mark when it started raining! By the time we got to the theatre the rain was really coming down. The pictures above are from right before we went to stand in line, because waiting in line we all got soaked. Everyone was fighting for space with their umbrellas and the runoff rain was just getting everyone wet, but it was all worth it because we got to see the movie! I definitely felt as though the movie was too long, but there was this beautiful scene that was my absolute favorite where Lana del Rey's song "Young and Beautiful" plays in the background of the montage between Daisy and Gatsby. It was so perfect and beautiful. Definitely a highlight to the film, even though the 3D glasses were kind of annoying. But I think at that point I was just cranky from being in the rain for so long haha. Anyways, it's like 3:00 a.m. and I have to get up for the morning shift at my internship tomorrow.
