Drake

Goodness! I've been really busy lately! I came back from L.A. and my old friend Ale reminded me that we were going to see Drake on Wednesday. I had totally forgotten! We got our tickets this summer for a steal, but at the mention of attending the concert I got really excited! I've never been to a really big concert before. I usually prefer to go to small venues like The House of Blues, but I had a ton of fun at J.Cole so I was honestly hoping that Drake would be just as good.

Miguel was his opener and man does he have great energy! He was so fun! He kept cracking jokes and dancing all over the stage. He even dropped down into the splits at one point! It was really cool, and I liked his set so much because he didn't sing his songs exactly the way I've heard them. He made them a little different and mixed a couple together. It was a pretty cool combination.

Drake was a pretty good show, but I don't really think he's a performer. He's a great artist, he sounds exactly the same live as he does on his album but I wasn't all that impressed by his energy or his set. I really felt the passion from J.Cole when he performed and I just didn't feel like that same passion was coming from Drake.
Don't get me wrong there was a really cool section of the show where he got up on this circular contraption and pointed out people in the audience. That was cool, he even made shout out to people in the nosebleeds! He was just commenting on how nice they looked, or that he saw them. It was pretty awesome, the energy was off the charts at that point. The audience was sooooooo excited. I also liked how he mixed his new stuff with some of his old stuff, but I wouldn't say it was a life changing event. That's just me though! I definitely feel as though he's really talented and I like his music, I'm just saying that his performance just didn't do it for me.
